In order to create a professional presentation in order to grab the audience’s attention, we use Themes. Theme Colors, Fonts and Effects are not only available in PowerPoint, but are also available in Excel, Word and Outlook, so our Presentations, Documents, Spreadsheets and E-mails have a more cohesive look. If we are not satisfied with the Themes available in PowerPoint (which I doubt), we can also create our own Theme which will contain custom Colors, Fonts, Effect and Backgrounds. All we have to do is to open a built-in-theme and change its settings. Just follow the steps below in order to Create A New Custom Theme in PowerPoint 2016. We must select the View tab and then from the area of the ribbon named Master Views, we select the command Slide Master.
Once selected, the Slide Master tab appears where we navigate to the Background area of the ribbon as shown in the image below. In the Background area we have the following commands available:. Hide Background Graphics: By using this command we can hide any graphics of the slide that are part of the Background Theme. In the image below, I have selected the Colors command, where the drop down menu appears with all the available Color Palettes.
All we have to do is to choose the one that we want. If we want to modify the Colors, we select the Customize Colors which is located at the bottom of the drop down menu. Once the Customize Colors command is selected, the Create New Theme Colors window appears, where we can modify the Colors for our Presentation Theme as shown below. Once finished we can type also a Name for our New Theme Color in order for it to be used in the future and then press the Save button.
Apple Mac computers come with a large font selection that you can use with software installed on the computer, such as Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac.

In the image below, I have selected the Fonts command where the drop down menu appears, and all we have to do is to select that we want. As above, at the bottom of the Fonts drop down menu we can select the Customize Fonts where we can Modify the Selected Font. Also we can give it a new Name in order for future using and then press the Save button. In the image below, I have select the Effects command where the drop down menu appears with all the available Effects. We just click on the desired one and the Effect will take place. In the image below, I have selected the Background Styles command where the drop down menu appears with all the available Background where we select the one that is needed.

We can also select the Format Background command which is located at the bottom of the drop down menu in order to modify the Background. Once the command is selected the Format Background task pane appears where we can do all the adjustments needed. Once we have modified the elements that the Theme contains, we are able to save the settings as a New Theme for future use. In order to Save the Modified Theme, we must select the Themes button as shown in the image below, and from the drop down menu that appears we select from the bottom the command Save Current Theme. The Save Current Theme dialog box will appear, where we type in the name of our New Theme and that is it. The Theme that we have created will be available in the Themes Gallery which is located on the Design tab in PowerPoint. About the same procedure can be followed in Word, Excel and Outlook.
